My name is Carvel Avis, founder of HotFrets.com

I decided to start this blog for one reason, to communicate in an open way with users of the site. One of the most frustrating things for me is to be so disconnected from the guitarists who use the site. There are several reasons for this.

1. I miss the opportunity to directly interact with students. A good teacher is always learning from his students both better ways to teach and things that improve the teacher as a player.
2. I'm planning to create a teacher's area and supply them with tools to easily publish lessons and administer their student information online. I want to know what things are most important to teachers and students out there.
3. To get feedback and help users to find all the goodies in the site. One very common experience for me is to ask users who've spent some time in the site to give their thoughts on how the site might be improved. Invariably I'll hear comments that make me realize that the very thing they're looking for IS ALREADY THERE!
   
   Spending some time to show them in detail commonly produces comments like, "Wow, I didn't know that was there!" I take the blame for this. It's my fault for not making things more clear. However, I could use your feedback to improve in this area as well as adding things you'd love to see.

So, with all that said, I invite your comments on any of the above. Please keep it clean. Bad language will not be tolerated! It's offensive to most web visitors and to me as well. Show your intelligence and character. Communicate without cursing.
